Webside Manner is Just as Vital as Bedside Manner
Just like in-person visits, virtual interactions rely heavily on trust, empathy, and clear communication. Emotional care (like warmth and empathy) and cognitive care (like education and expectation-setting) both carry over into telemedicine—and must be intentional for the visit to be effective.

Success Starts Before the Call
Effective virtual visits depend on thoughtful preparation. That means choosing a quiet, well-lit environment, positioning the camera at eye level, and eliminating background noise or distractions. Your environment reflects your professionalism and helps build client confidence.

Communication is More Than Words
From maintaining eye contact and using calm, clear language to mirroring expressions and limiting body movement, non-verbal cues are powerful tools. Verbal communication also requires managing latency, using reflective statements, and ensuring clients fully understand the next steps before closing the visit.
